Methodology
I picked Purdue Army ROTC because I am a proud member of this organization. I used the procedure of an ethnographic study to look at the group from and outside point of view while adding a little bit of my own experiences.
This group is well developed and is producing officers that are highly ranked among others in the country. At the beginning of this assignment, I attended a Field Training Exercise at Camp Atterbury where all cadets in Army ROTC at Purdue performed a range of different operations that developed us as leaders and soldiers in the military. I took this opportunity to observe what the people in leadership were doing and teaching to make an analysis on the goals that they have. Here I was able to observe how people talk, the references that they use, and the way that they lead others. Most of the information I gathered was from this and past experiences as a cadet in the program. I also had some one on one time with cadets in the program and my military science professor Captain Anthony Blackburn. Through these experiences and interviews, I was able to collect data and make an analysis on it and this project will demonstrate the aspects of this community.
